Express yourself through costume creation!  

Design and create your own roller derby-inspired clothing and accessories through hands-on, DIY processes. 

Inspired by the Festival’s presentation of Windmill Production Company's Mama Does Derby, this workshop series introduces participants to the expressive world of roller derby culture. Across the sessions, participants will explore how derby communities use fashion, alter-egos and personal style to express identity, solidarity and pride, designing and creating their own derby-inspired clothing and accessories through hands-on, DIY processes.​

Participants will also develop a unique derby name and persona through guided storytelling and creative exercises, exploring the community spirit and creative freedom that define roller derby culture. ​
